OK - so we can’t get these goodies in North America yet (only releases in Europe and the UK). But the demos on the sites are fun to watch and really, these new gadgets are cool.

RWD’s resident Gooner Danny Walker, sits down with England and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Jermaine Jenas, at the launch of PSP Go!Messenger
There are a couple of sites that show case the upcoming go!messenger, go!cam and go!explore. My favorite is the UK site. You will see why when you visit it! Here are some peek views from the site:
You will see the GO!CAM demos

And you can see the GO!Explore! and GO!Messenger and GO!View demos as well. We liked the cute animations on this site that are absent from the dot com version.
Some more shots from the site:
You can check out GO!Explore

And you can see how GO!Messenger is going to be a thing of beauty and delight because we will supposedly be able to see and talk to other PSP’ers for FREE
Watch this space for news updates on its release in North America!

We just have the hardware sales from Japan in, but they don’t look that interesting. The usual, Nintendo DS Lite owns all and the Wii is the best selling next-generation console in Japan. The PlayStation Portable is selling better than its big brother, the PlayStation 3. Silently the PlayStation 2 is starting to fade away in the shadow of the mighty PS3. Oh and the GameCube sold 131 units.
Hardware sales from Japan, August 6th to 12th:
DSL 147,025
Wii 65,120
PSP 32,147
PS3 21,321
PS2 12,545
Xbox360 2,112
GBM 366
DS 180
GBASP 138
GC 131
GBA 16

Sony has announced a redesign of its PlayStation Portable system during their E3 keynote today.
Kaz Hirai from Sony announced the new PSP that’s 33% lighter and 19% thinner than the ‘old’ model of Sony’s first handheld system. The new portable gamesystem will come in black, but there will be a silver version as well.
The battery is more efficient so games will load faster and battery life will be longer. The handheld now disposes of a HQ video output, used for connecting your PSP with your TV. By connecting it you’ll be able to watch your games, movies, music, pictures and all the rest on your TV screen so that the whole family can enjoy the system.
In North America there will be a PSP Entertainment Pack coming out. This pack will contain a silver PlayStation Portable, the game Daxter, a one GB DUo Stick and a UMD from Family Guy for only $199. Star Wars fans will be able to enjoy the Limited Edition Battlefront Pack containg a PSP with a Darth Vader picture on the back and off course the game Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron for $199 as well. Sony Europe and Sony Japan will make their announcements later this week.
