While I use my PSP mainly for games, I’ve become a great fan of watching movies and TV shows on it.
I’ve just now put a recent episode of NCIS on it to watch when I go on a trip tonight, so I’m pretty happy about that.
And as the whole transfer to my PSP was so easy and took only 10 minutes, I thought I’d share how I did it. First I used the free version of TransferMy Video
(that I downloaded recently). Then I browsed through my viseo files and found the NCIS file that my friend sent me, and then clicked “start my conversion”.
That’s it, basically. It took less than 10 minutes to convert to PSP file (its very fast). I then just synced it to my PSP (a few secs) and done! Best invention, ever!!.
I just copied the banner ad above, so there is no link from it to the free download - but you can just click the TransferMyVideo link above or click HERE
to get to the free download.
So why copy the banner? Because the free version does have a watermark in the middle of the image - which can get annoying. Its pretty cheap software anyway, but currently they have a 35% off sale - so worth a mention.

If you have had a go at “downgrading” your own PSP so that you can play emulator games or watch movies etc (all the many great things you can do once you have modded your PSP) - and ended up bricking your PSP instead - this following video will get you sorted!
If you still want to mod your PSP then check out this guy - he guarantees to downgrade your PSP without bricking it.

If you live in Europe, or Japan, there can be little doubt that the PSP is hot property. To quote one PSP’er we came across in a PSP forum:
I Use my PSP as a Camera, MP3player, Portable game player. WIFI browser,,,Movie and Music Vid Player..(sony really needs to market the PSP alot better)..I also own my own Construction Company and The PSP has come into use plenty of times..
But, if you live in the US, then some of this is just not available.

There have been rumors all through 2008 that Sony was about to release the PSP camera and the PSP GPS system. After all: the PSP Camera was released in Japan and Singapore (the Chotto Shot ) in 2006, and in PAL territories (Europe -where it is named the Go!Cam), it was released in May, 2007. (Read more about GoPSPGo)
At CES in early 2008, Sony America stated that the PSP Camera and PSP GPS will be released in North America sometime 2008. So far this has not happened, and, despite some extensive internet research, no-one in our team could track down any inkling of this happening before the end of 2008! Plenty of rumors, but no hard facts.
In a fit of frustration, Bitfood called Sony Computer Entertainment America, today, to try and nail down when (or if!) either the camera or GPS (”go!explore” style system) were going to be present options for North Americans for Christmas 2008.
Sadly, the answer was a decisive “no”! Not happening - no plans in the foreseeable future.
Which is a pity, because the whole setup looks awesome.

OK - so we can’t get these goodies in North America yet (only releases in Europe and the UK). But the demos on the sites are fun to watch and really, these new gadgets are cool.

RWD’s resident Gooner Danny Walker, sits down with England and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Jermaine Jenas, at the launch of PSP Go!Messenger
There are a couple of sites that show case the upcoming go!messenger, go!cam and go!explore. My favorite is the UK site. You will see why when you visit it! Here are some peek views from the site:
You will see the GO!CAM demos

And you can see the GO!Explore! and GO!Messenger and GO!View demos as well. We liked the cute animations on this site that are absent from the dot com version.
Some more shots from the site:
You can check out GO!Explore

And you can see how GO!Messenger is going to be a thing of beauty and delight because we will supposedly be able to see and talk to other PSP’ers for FREE
Watch this space for news updates on its release in North America!
