Hmmm yeahh, drooool free TV on PSP - watch anywhere! …WTF! …Its not for the US #&@#!

Thats about the size of it folks! Have recently discovered that the Go!PSPGo! websites have all folded up their tents and disappeared into the night (and their function absorbed into the uk.playstation.com website). So when I came accross a reference to G0!View and was sent to a new website - set up just for it - well, palpitations were in evidence. But ..alas poor Yorick… Its only available in the Fair Isles.
We also recently nagged the SCEA playstation crew in California to find out if they were ever going to bring any component of the Go! setup to the US. And got the royal runaround. But the consensus seems to be a resounding “no”!
So watch this video and weep, US readers. (UK readers - you get free TV on PSP for a month to try it out) BTW, we have a theory that the PSP is more popular among older (and therefore better funded) enthusiasts in the UK and Europe. Now about 30% of our readers are from UK and Europe - so we thought we would do a quick quiz to check our theory (you’ll find it at the end of this post)

Assassin’s Creed Portable is billed as an “exclusive PSP entry into the Assassin’s Creed series” - but will it be essentially the Assassin’s Creed 2 game also due for release for the “holiday” period? Well, if you visit the site then wherever you are in the world you will get treated to the teaser trailer for Assassins Creed 2- but no info to let us know more about Assassin’s Creed Portable. If you visit the home site for the game developers, you can see that the only platforms listed for it are PS3, Xbox360 and PCs.
But the story does not end there, because according to a just-done interview with Sébastien Puel - the producer of Assassin’s Creed 2 - the game will be available on PS3, X360, PC and also on PSP!!
Artwork gives a feel for the setting in Medieval/Renaissance Italy in the 15th century:

And the main character Ezio, has a very sinister medieval look.

In his interview, Sébastien Puel says:
Since a good part of the action takes place in Venice, Ezio is able to dive and swim. . ….Ezio will also have the possibility to blend into any kind of group of citizens in the crowd, making the navigation all the more fun and believable….. The new “climb leap” move gives the player the opportunity to launch himself a couple of meters high in the air while climbing a vertical building to reach a higher ledge that would be inaccessible without this move…..For Assassin’s Creed 2, there will be various new types of gameplay to break and vary the flow of the game and add intense “WOW” moments, one of them involving a certain flying machine that Leonardo Da Vinci conceptualized and developed …….complete interview

WE have said it before - but we will say it again - lets have more free PSP game demos!
Thats the fastest way to get us to buy them. Most of us have enough experience to be immune to the hype that goes with most games (OK some still get the pulses racing but that’s because they are hot games). But too often a game does not live up to the promos and that just makes us ultra slow to jump in again! If a game is really worthy it will get rave reviews from the demo and be quickly got by everyone.
Now I mean free demos (not like the recent offer for Patapon 2 where you get the demo only if you pre-buy the game) - and from the Sony store or the PSN - why not? And add all the promo suck-ins you want. Just give us the demos. Now I am not gonna complain if the demo is short either - as I have seen some guys do. In fact it just makes sense to keep us wanting more. I wanna be there - don’t you?
Having said all that, I’m still gonna include a trailer for Patapon 2 (above) and a link to a site that has free PSP game demos on it. Now, they are either older games (most before 2008) or they are Japanese games that are not available elsewhere. So these demos aren’t like the ones I was talking about above - that give us a good sense of what a new game is like. But they can pass away the time and be a bit of fun. So go to free-psp-demos and check out what he’s got.
