Microsoft set up the Zune Mansion in Houston last week to host performers celebrating 2008 Latin Emmy Awards, and to showcase its latest “Zodiac Designs” developed by artists Catalina Estrada and Iosefatu Sua for Zune. The following image shows Latin singer, Fonseca, in front of one of Catalina Estrada’s Zune-Zodiac designs in the Houston Zune mansion:

And Apple (the design masters) have even got Disney Cartoonists developing Games for iPhone (in this case, Rhinoball).
Not to be out done, artists are being called on to design skins for handhelds - including for PSP. Gelskin, for example, has some 80 artists on their payrollthat have produced an amazing variety of designs.
Not being artists nor historians, none of the Bitfood team could stump up a reason for the marriage between these huge companies and artists. Admittedly, games do require artists for their presentation, so the association is not completely bizzare. But still…
