Nikkei Business Daily has announced that the Slimline PlayStation 2 has lost some weight. The newest model of the PStwo SCPH-79000 weighs only 600 kilograms, which is 300 kilograms less than the older model of the updated model of the PlayStation 2. The adaptor of the console lost 100 kilograms as well and weighs now only 250 grams. Sony managed to make a few parts smaller and lighter so production costs will go down as well. The looks of the console remain the same, but who knows Sony might lower the price of its consoles. Or maybe they will just maintain the price of its PS2 consoles to stop the bleeding of the PlayStation 3?
